The M4 Sherman medium tank was undoubtedly the most widely used and employed armored vehicle during World War II. The M4 became the mainstay of American armored forces, with numerous versions and variants produced. The first mass-produced example, the M4A1 Sherman, featured a rounded hull and cast turret.
