The Gas Range Temperature Control Thermostat establishes and maintains the internal temperature of the oven cavity. If your oven temperature isn't staying constant, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Located in the control panel, the thermostat is a liquid-filled bulb that maintains the overall cycling heat. To access the part, you'll remove the top panel of the range, the racks inside the range and the oven door. Note that this kit includes an updated design, but the parts will install and operate the same as the existing ones. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you shut off the gas to the range.
