The 1st stage is a 5.0-micron sediment cartridge, it reduces heavy sedimentsit, improves taste and smell, removes or reduces sediment, chlorine, chloramines, VOCs, and other contaminants. The 2nd stage is a high flow 0.2-micron filter, it is great for reducing particulates commonly associated with well water and city water including very small submicron particles.
