This is a set of four West Virginia Glass stemless wine glasses featuring illustrations of four types of songbirds. These illustrations were developed by M. Sargeant. Included are a Blue Jay; Robin; Chickadee; and Baltimore Oriole. The illustrations are detailed and beautiful.
These glasses are in excellent condition. They look new. There are no chips or scratches. The paint is vibrant. There is no dishwasher damage.
They each measure 4 1/4” tall. 3” at the mouth.
M. Sargeant (Mary Sargent or Margaret Sargent) was a an artist known for designing popular vintage glassware featuring detailed, hand-painted songbirds, often made by companies like West Virginia Glass and Fenton. Her most active designs were developed between 1940 and 1960. She passed away in 1992.
The glasses are all signed by M. Sargeant. Her name is spelled differently between the research and her signature.
