Balance the overdrive housing on your holding fixture so there is no weight on the output shaft. 2. Insert the gauge bar tool 6312 through the direct clutch sun gear tube and rest it on top of the overdrive planetary. 3. Tap it lightly, ensuring it is fully seated against the overdrive planetary. 4. Position the straight edge tool 6311 across the surface of the overdrive housing. 5. Zero dial caliper and extend sliding scale of dial caliper downward through gauge bar until scale contacts end of gauge 6312. 6. Lock scale in place, remove dial caliper and note distance measured. 7. Select proper thickness end-play spacer from the spacer chart, based on the distance measured. 8. Remove the gauge tools. 9. Install the selected intermediate shaft spacer onto intermediate shaft. Set Up the Overdrive Thrust Plate(Selective Spacer): 1. Position gauge bar 6311 across face of the overdrive housing. 2. Measure with caliper, the distance to clutch hub thrust bearing surface at four places 90° apart(12-3-6-9 o' clock positions). 3. Average the measurements by adding them and dividing by four. 4. Select the proper thrust bearing plate based on the measurement from the specifics chart. 5.
