The Tiger I, a formidable heavy tank of World War II, was developed by Germany. Initially known as the Pzkw VI Ausf. H, it was later redesigned as the Ausf. E in March 1943. This tank also went by names like Mark VI-E, Panzer VI-E, PzKpfw VI-E, or Sd.Kfz. 181, but was commonly referred to as the Tiger I or simply the Tiger. It saw service from late 1942 until Germany's surrender in 1945. The nickname 'Tiger' was bestowed upon it by Ferdinand Porsche.
