Instead of a LinerLock, the Military 2’s full-flat-ground CPM S30V blade is supported by Spyderco’s signature Compression Lock mechanism, which offers greater strength and even safer one-handed operation. The stainless steel liners that form the foundation of the lock are larger, giving the knife increased structural strength and anchoring its four-position pocket clip, which is configurable for left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. The skeletonized liners are nested within peel-ply-textured G-10 scales to maintain a slim profile, complement its open-backed construction, and reduce the knife’s overall weight. Like its predecessor, the Military 2’s blade includes a textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp that provide a solid purchase for a forward-positioned grip, offering enhanced control during precise cutting tasks. The blade’s signature Trademark Round Hole proudly announces the design’s Spyderco pedigree and is fully accessible to allow quick, positive, one-handed opening with either hand. The Military 2 with CPM S30V blade steel is available in several different variations. The basic model features black G-10 scales, a satin-finished blade, brightly finished handle hardware, and a choice of PlainEdge, CombinationEdge, and SpyderEdge formats. With a satin-finished PlainEdge blade, it is also available with digital camouflage peel-ply-texture G-10 handle scales. For those who prefer the look of a black blade, we offer the Military 2 in an all-black theme with a non-reflective Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) blade coating, matching black-coated liners, clip, and handle hardware, and a choice of all three edge configurations.
