The Shure A400MB is a surface-mount mute button and adapter designed for Microflex MX395-LED boundary microphones as well as MX405, MX410, and MX415 gooseneck models. Installed between the microphone and the table, it introduces a touch-sensitive control that lets each presenter silence or activate a mic without reaching for a mixer or relying on a technician.
Inside the compact washer-style housing is a switch that you can set for latched or momentary operation. Use latched mode when you want a press to mute and another press to unmute, or choose momentary mode when you want the mic to stay muted only while the button is held. Logic connections make it easy to hand local control to the person at the table or tie the mute function into a remote or third-party system for centralized management.
Installation is straightforward. A 5-pin mini XLR on one side and a block connector on the other eliminate soldering, and the unit seats cleanly in table surfaces from 0.59 to 1.18 inches thick.
