Sherline 10 Tabletop Mill XY Base with DRO

Each of our four mill sizes offers an XY base option. If you own a vertical milling column for your lathe, you can purchase the base of any of our vertical mills as an XY base. This provides a sturdier base and larger work area than the lathe, and allows lathe owners to swap the headstock and motor/speed control to the vertical milling column in about 60 seconds. XY bases are also used in various industrial manufacturing setups. If you have a standard mill column base, note that those made before 1995 may need modification to work with this XY base. Older columns can be re-machined at the factory for use with an XY base, saving you the cost of a new vertical milling machine. Bases made after 1995 do not require modification. The 10 DRO Tabletop Mill XY base is the same as used in our 5000-series DRO tabletop mill, featuring DRO handwheels, encoders, and sensors that connect to a digital readout box (not included). Standard features include a 10 mill base, 13 mill table, special DRO 2 (51mm) handwheels, oil reservoir on the X/Y axes, and travel of X=8.65 (220 mm), Y=3.0 (76 mm). Optional upgrades include a brass tube cover for the rear of the Y-axis and an accordion way cover for the front and rear, both requiring the Mill Column Base (P/N 50050) for use.
