This 4-bar window guard is constructed of 0.048 inch thick, plain carbon steel square tubing and comes in a white painted finish. This window guard features a fully adjustable telescoping width (prior to mounting), and it comes complete with one-way, tamper-resistant installation screws. These guards were designed with the children in mind, to help prevent them from accidental falls through open windows. This child fall window guard is a stationary, non-operational guard that is designed for interior use only. These window guards are for inside installations only. This child fall window guard meets New York City and New Jersey’s housing codes, and it was approved by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, HDWG #04-09-2010, however it does not meet egress. Note: This is a “fixed” window guard, meaning that once it has been installed, it cannot be opened or easily removed in the event of an emergency where entry or exit through the window might be immediately required. This stationary window guard should not be installed in bedrooms or sleeping quarters where there is no other accessible window in the event of an emergency.
