One-piece bit extensions are designed for quick change with hex shank bits. They are made of tool steel, which has been heat-treated and hardened for durability, especially to resist bending. A set screw secures the bit extension to the shank of a self-feed bit, ship auger, or other 7/16" shank accessory and keeps the bit from vibrating loose. Reed Manufacturing has been producing fine tools for worldwide professional trades since its founding, in 1896, by Carl Reed. Reed celebrates its 118th year of business in 2014.
