Purchased from a long-established vintage clothing store in Osaka that specializes in Levi's.
These are cut-off jeans from the 1970s, Levi's 646.
The back pocket has chain stitching, but the TOP button has a back stamp of 4, and the fabric suggests an older piece.
This is a rare pair, a so-called "transitional piece," with clear vertical fading.
The size is a bit large, but since they are shorts, you can wear them loosely, or roll them up for a 70s surfer look!
