The Picard 3 component fiberglass handle, cross peen hammer is made from C45, high quality steel. It features a hardened face and cross peen making it suitable for hitting almost any non hardened steel material. This hammer is also known a Schlosserhammer or German pattern cross peen hammer. It has excellent weight distribution making it great for many different uses. It is smaller than a hand sledge or drilling hammer but bigger and more substantial than a typical claw hammer.
