Sweet Viburnum is a delight to the senses when the flower buds bloom during spring. The scent can be smelled from a distance away and attracts many pollinators to your gardens. The scent reminds us of gardenia, tea olive, or jasmine. Truly a wonderful plant specimen to have! These large shrubs can be trained into small trees that grow up to 25-30 feet tall at mature size. The growth rate can be up to 2-3 feet per year so you won't have to wait too long for maturity. An application of slow release fertilizer will help speed up the growth. These viburnum bushes should be grown in usda zones 8, 9, and 10. They are drought tolerant once established. Not for indoor growing. You can mix and match different evergreen shrubs like arborvitae, thuja green giant, boxwood, podocarpus, leyland cypress, or other hedges to make a unique landscape design.
