Pair of Black and Gold Stoneware Torches, Restoration Style, Circa 1950 by Antikeo

A pair of black stoneware torches with golden accents and decorations in a restoration style. Tripartite base in the shape of lion paws and acanthus leaves made of gilded bronze, covering the corners. Each side of the triangular stand is adorned with a large palmette, whose base ends in two volutes. A frieze of gilded bronze with waterleaf decoration separates the base of the column, which is shaped like a pedestal and carries a bowl whose foot ends in three stylized volutes of black stoneware with red highlight decoration. The shaft of the column is adorned with a two-row gilded bronze waterleaf band, which ends in the middle of the column. Above, a gilded decoration in the form of leaves and three gilded stripes adorns the shaft. The torches have a bowl at their peak, which has a bronze leaf decoration at its base. The work is from the year 1950.
