This charming work of art--by St. Louis artist, Carol Crouppen Schuchard - is from a series of collages that reference the concept of domesticity from a woman's point of view. This particular work employs the art of decoupage, covering an object--in this case, a thick piece of cardboard in the shape of a house--with collaged imagery from Crouppen's life as a woman, a wife, a mother, and an artist. The imagery in this series of works include food, flowers, toys, dress patterns, photos of family, etc. The piece is handsomely framed in an expensive oak shadow-box frame, and is an excellent addition to any art collection.
