This method involves using a Circular Track Meter (CT Meter) to obtain and analyze pavement macrotexture profiles. The CT Meter features a charge coupled device (CCD) laser-displacement sensor on a rotating arm, tracing a 284 mm diameter circular track. It measures the same track as the Dynamic Friction Tester (DF Tester) and can be used in labs and on-site. The CT Meter's software provides mean profile depth (MPD) and root mean square (RMS) values of macrotexture profiles.
