These are vintage black military dress/riding boots
identical to those used by the costuming department in the original Star Wars
trilogy. These were acquired as military surplus in the 1990s and date back to
the 1970s or perhaps earlier. The leather upper and rubber sole with square toe
is specifically accurate to the X-Wing and TIE Fighter Pilots in the original
Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope. Imperial Officers used these boots as well.
Darth Vader and Han Solo wore similar boots with the same leather upper, but a
hard sole instead of rubber. The close-up photo of the X-Wing costume boots are
property of Lucasfilm from an original screen-used costume that is on display

The sole is stamped size 28
(European sizing) which translates to about an 11-11.5 (??) in US sizing. The sole measures 11 1/4" x 3 7/8". The sizing
on the calves is an individual factor.
