This Lovejoy SLD 350 Series internal shaft locking device is a solid-ring locking element for connecting a hub to a shaft in power transmission applications. It has an internal and external tapered ring, and when axial force is exerted, pressure is generated on the shaft and hub bore for a frictional connection. There are no moving parts, so there is no wear, and the device can be reused. No stops are needed, so a boss or hub can be locked at any point along a shaft. Multiple units can be combined for greater torque. This locking element is suitable for the connection of gear wheels, chain sprockets, levers, cams, belt pulleys, brake drums, flywheels, couplings, and clutches, among others.Shaft collars are ring-shaped devices primarily used to secure components onto shafts.
