The Kona Joe gourmet espresso coffee blend is perfect for an espresso shot, cappuccino or latte. Darkest of all our roasts, the espresso coffee beans are roasted for a total of 22 minutes to bring out a toasty and robust flavor. The naturally sweet coffee has hints of brown sugar and black licorice.We offer the first coffee ever to be grown like wine. Inspired by the family vineyard in California, we developed and patented a process that involves growing coffee on wires the same way winemakers grow grapes. Opening the coffee trees up to sunlight and aeration increases development of the coffee cherries, their ripening, and the natural production of sugar.Many coffee farmers use observation of the change of color from green to red to determine when to pick coffee cherries. We take a scientific approach, testing the coffee cherries for pH level, sugar concentration and titratable acid before handpicking them at their optimum maturity. Over 300,000 visitors have toured our coffee plantation to learn about our growing process and enjoy our variety of Kona coffee blends.
