This convenient set contains six KleenWater brand 5 micron pleated water filter cartridges and one o-ring. To provide prospective to the 5 micron sediment entrapment rating it is important to note the naked human eye can see down to 20 micron and a human hair is 100 microns in diameter. These replacement cartridges are constructed of pleated polypropylene which benefits the consumer in two ways. The pleated design provides a very large exposed surface area that gives the cartridge impressive solids-holding capacity. This cartridge is a single membrane which allows for occasional cleaning. Its performance is commensurate to the competition at a lower cost. The o-ring is constructed of Buna nitrile rubber which is the preferred material recognized for its superior characteristics.
