The W5500 chip, an embedded Ethernet controller, simplifies internet connectivity for embedded systems via SPI. It offers stable connectivity using a single chip for TCP/IP Stack, 10/100 Ethernet MAC, and PHY. The hardwired TCP/IP stack supports TCP, UDP, IPv4, ICMP, ARP, IGMP, and PPPoE. With 32Kbytes internal memory, users can implement Ethernet applications using simple socket programs. It allows for 8 independent hardware sockets simultaneously. The W5500 SPI supports 80 MHz speed and efficient protocols for high-speed network communication. To reduce power consumption, it offers WOL and power down modes.
