The lock is broken and cannot be used.
One side of the inner belt is partially detached (see photo 11). It seems possible to repair it by sewing it yourself or asking a professional.

Despite the issues mentioned above, there shouldn't be any particular problems using it as a trunk.
The inside is also clean.
