Tyler Shields, an American contemporary artist, filmmaker, and photographer, was once dubbed 'Hollywood's favorite photographer' and was named one of the '100 best things in the world' by GQ. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, and currently residing in LA, Shields is renowned for his provocative photography that explores themes of consumerism, violence, and fantasy. In one of his most famous series, he set fire to a $100,000 crocodile leather Hermes Birkin bag. Shields' work draws from the history of music video directing and collaborating with legendary skateboard icon Tony Hawk. His images play with concepts of gaze, power structures, hyperrealism, and cinematography.
