German WWI M16 Helmet Leather Liner - 7 1/4 (58 cm)

New Made item: Custom made by a professional leather craftsman. The band leather is 4 mm thick unlike the thin leather or patent leather as seen on many other reproductions. The leather for the three fingers is soft and supple and will darken with time and use, just like the originals. These liners are made from the correct grades of leather and are very close to originals. Each of the three pads has a pocket sewn into the rear to accommodate the pads for sizing and comfort. The liner pads or pillows are included and are constructed of machine sewn natural cotton then stuffed. The only difference between this liner and an original is that we have not included the half moon cut outs that accommodate the vents. We ve done this purposefully, as fitting a liner to a helmet is as much an art as a science, by excluding the two crescent cut-outs and allowing you to do it yourself you will get a correct custom fit every time in just a couple of minutes. This design choice comes from experience; we have over 500 original M16 shells in our inventory and we fit reproduction liners to them everyday. Size: 7 1/4 inches / 58cm
