When move down, the plate stop the generator back feed circuit breaker and allows the main breaker to remain on. When move up, the generator back feed circuit breaker may be turned on but the main circuit breaker is blocked and will remain off. This kit avoids the inconveniences that an unexpected power outage can cause. It is used to direct generator power to any circuit within your home safely. Instructions: 1. Power Off Power off and then use the pen to mark holes through the bottom plate's holes. 2. Drill Holes Remove the panel cover from the breaker panel and drill the three holes marked on the panel cover using the supplied 3/16'' drill bit. 3. Install Interlock Insert the screws from rear of cover, install the bottom plate and top plate on the front cover of the breaker panel. Please make sure that the top plate can be pulled freely (enough space). 4. Test The Lock The inter lock has been properly installed. Lastly, apply all labels on electric panel.
