Exhibit Baseball Card Sam Jethroe

This card is in good shape. Sam was known as the "Jet". Jackie Robinson thought Sam was the fastest man in baseball. Sam played in the old Negro League and helped the Buckeyes win two pennants and the 1945 Negro World Series in 1945. Sam was not sure of his exact birth-date so they say somewhere between 1915 and 1919. Most people believe it is 1917. The right hand side of the card has some very minor blemishes about 1/8 of an inch. In 1950 Sam became the first black player to play for the Boston Braves.
