Often improperly called “Crystalline Rose Quartz” in an uncut, unpolished, unheated or man made treated in any way Geode.
Rose quartz is commonly found in the quartz cores of pegmatites and forms at high temperatures, but it has also been found in hydrothermal veins. It always shows a hazy to translucent character due to microscopic fibrous inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral related to dumortierite.
But this variety of pink/rose quartz that occurs in well-formed crystals of similar colour is “euhedral rose quartz”. Because of the substantial differences in the physical properties and causes of colour in Rose Quartz compared to this variety of pink-coloured quartz that forms crystals often lined in geodes it is sometimes more properly called pink quartz, Rosaquarz or Pink Amethyst.
