Gorgeous black and grey polka dot wool hat by Jean Hicks. I’m not sure what this style is called, but it’s like a high front pillbox hat. The front is higher than the back and it is SO BEAUTIFUL! It is made of thick wool felt, or “boiled wool.” But it doesn’t fit me, so here it is. It is boiled wool and the grey polka dots are oval in shape. It has the original tag that says, “Erratica Jean Hicks”. It measures 21” in diameter and is in excellent condition. Jean Hicks is known for her unique, one of a kind hats. They are hard to come by, as each one is individually made and no 2 are exactly alike. As a milliner, felt-maker and educator, Jean uses lightly processed fibers to create both theatrical and functional headwear.
