This dark blue vintage evening bag with a dark blue rose design would be a fashion statement with your coordinated dress for special occasions. It measures about 7 inches tall and about 8 inches wide, and 4 inches front to back. The wide hand straps measure about 6 inches from the clasp. The top is closed with a metal snap. The original paper padding is enclosed. Though this bag is about 60 years old it has been unused in storage for its life by appearance.
I could find no makers or designers mark, inside or outside. The material appears to be a heavy woven deep blue fabric.
As a passing thought, this bag loaded with about 5 rolls of pennies would be a great weapon if your date needed a lesson in keeping hands off!
