- The wood of many names, Paldao (also known as Paldoa) or Dracontomelum dao, is a heartwood form South East Asia, greyish-brown with a slightly green cast and distinctive dark streaks, ranging from brown to black. Dao produces a lively, warm tone, since it is tonally similar to mahogany.
- The neck and fingerboard of the Dao ukuleles are made from African okoume and Walnut. It's a great combination that guarantees a stable intonation across the fretboard, is gentle to your hands, and looks great as well.
