Teacup and Saucer
Made in Longton, England
A rich hand-painted pattern with a brilliant combination of cobalt blue and rust panels. Dabs of green intersperse with rust and yellow flowers. The rims, teacup handle and base are gold trimmed. The inside of the teacup is patterned with a delicate scalloped design under the cobalt and rust panels that carry over from the exterior rim. The backstamp dates these pieces roughly to 1939-1945.
Founded in 1890, COLCLOUGH is a well-known maker of English bone china, and was once known as "Britain's largest manufacturer of Bone China Teaware".
