I still got a few china plates left from a set I purchased at a Mikasa store a few (ok, a LOT! of) years ago - which now makes them rare, pretty much museum pieces. To the point that I feel guilty using them, almost as if I ate in bowls made of gold. Although truth be told, if I did eat out of gold bowls, then I wouldn't likely be on mercari. But here I am... so I'd rather they complete a connoisseur's collection set than stare mischievously at me when I open the cabinets, daring me to use them without breaking any.
