First American edition, first printing hardcover copy of Charlie & The Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl (Alfred A. Knopf, 1972). With illustrations by Jason Schindelman. Increasingly scarce and collectible first U.S. edition of this beloved and classic young adult fantasy adventure novel, a follow-up to Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. Price clipped jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with some tanning, rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges. Boards slightly discolored, mostly around the edges and with corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine remains fairly straight. Tanning pages with outer edges slightly darkened. Previous owner’s inscription on front endpaper, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
