Case Closed (aka Detective Conan) is a beloved series in Japan that depicts the life of Jimmy Kudo (known in Japan as Shinichi Kudo), a genius teen detective who regularly solves high profile, international cases until he is targeted by criminals who try to kill him using a drug. The drug doesn’t kill Jimmy, but instead it turns his physical body into that of a child. Jimmy, now living under the pseudonym of Conan Edogawa, attends elementary school while living with his former crush and her detective father. As Conan, Jimmy regularly uses technology created by his former friend to temporarily put his crush’s father to sleep to create the illusion that he is solving crimes, when in actuality it is Jimmy. The crimes are incredibly detailed and interesting making them fun to try to solve along the way. The crimes vary greatly in their severity actions while the characters develop complex relationships.
