BC Battery Controller offers a unique 100% Made in Italy range of battery chargers/maintainers that are among the safest and most advanced on the market. It performs fully automatic 8 charging cycles and can be used for maintaining and recharging batteries used in automotive applications, classic cars and motorbikes, motorbikes, scooters, camping, powersports, gardening and for ‘deep-cycle’ batteries. In this range we find the BC K900 EDGE, an intelligent battery charger and maintainer with 3 selectable programmes (6V, 12V and 12V CAN-Bus), which, thanks to its 12V CAN-Bus programme and the included adapter, can be connected directly to the 12V DIN.4165 socket found on all BMW motorbikes. With its maximum charging current of 1 Amp, it is designed for complete maintenance of all types of conventional 6V and 12V batteries, from lead-acid to AGM, from 1.2Ah up to 100 Ah. Recharging much faster than normal battery chargers, the battery with BC Battery Controller products can last up to 8/10 years, and can repair sulphated batteries, recover 1.25V batteries (lowest level on the market) and is designed for use with vehicles equipped with ‘micro-hybrid’ start/stop systems. Driven by a state-of-the-art microcomputer, BC K900 EDGE not only monitors safety and efficient battery charging, but also automatically minimises energy consumption and guarantees a high level of protection thanks to its spark-proof system and its protections against overloads, polarity reversals and short circuits. Fully automatic, it can remain connected to the battery 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week, therefore for months, even years in a totally safe manner, and thanks to its livery, simple design and compactness and manageability, this product is super light and really suitable for everyone. Despite its compactness, it has a very robust shell that prevents it from slipping and makes it resistant to scratches, falls, accidental crushing, UV rays and water (IP44). The product comes with convenient clamps, practical mounting eyelets to leave on the vehicle, and an adapter for cigarette lighter socket and 12V socket DIN.4165 for BMW motorbikes. Thanks to the intuitive LED bar that also guarantees perfect night vision, BC K900 EDGE provides information on the battery charge status and the cycle in progress as well as the selected programme (6V, 12V or 12V CAN-Bus) . The product is covered by a 3-year warranty and premium factory service, given the very few cases handled. Step 2 - Recovery: if the battery is in extreme discharge condition (from 1.25V for 12V batteries, 0.63V for 6V batteries), the device attempts a recovery, to bring it back to higher voltages compatible with the next step. Stage 3 - Light Charge: if the battery is significantly discharged, the device pulses a light current to the battery to overcome the critical stage. Stage 4 - Main Charge: during this stage the charger delivers full current to the battery, which can recover up to 85-90% of its capacity. Stage 5 - Desulphation/Absorption: during this stage, a ‘controlled overcharge’ is provided to the battery, capable of restoring the remaining 10-15% of the battery's capacity, by means of desulphation/recovery of the lead-acid cells (for mild to medium levels of sulphation). Step 6 - Battery Analysis: the device interrupts the current supply for a few tens of minutes and verifies that the battery is able to retain the charge it received during previous charging cycles. The test is repeated at regular intervals. Stage 7 - Maintenance: thanks to a specially designed electronic circuit, the device maintains the battery's charge during periods of non-use, without overheating, overcharging or water/electrolyte leakage. Stage 8 - Equalisation: during long-term maintenance, the device performs an equalisation charge every 30 days to rebalance the battery cells, avoiding electrolyte stratification phenomena. BC K900 EDGE - FEATURES - 3 charging programmes: 6 Volt, 12 Volt or 12 Volt CAN-Bus. An LED bar always shows the active charging mode. - Pair of green/red LEDs to indicate the charging phase and any errors. - Green LED (CHARGE): cycle in progress (Charge, Desulphation, Maintenance...); - Red LED (ERROR): diagnostic problem detected (pole reversal, short circuit, battery not connected...). - Real-time monitoring of battery parameters during all charging cycles. - Battery overcharge protection: triggered when the microprocessor detects a voltage above a pre-determined threshold; no risk of bubble formation for all batteries on the market and particularly for sealed and gel batteries.
