The Bahco 20" Bypass Loppers will aid you in your attempt to cut live wood, prune and train vines. The cutting head for the Bypass Lopper is small and thus allows easier access to hidden branches. The lopper's cutting blade slides past a counterblade in a scissor motion, resulting in the name "bypass". The interesting design of this California style lopper creates a slicing motion during cutting, which helps prune live wood and spreads wear over larger areas of the blade for long life. The Bypass Lopper's counterblade is hook shaped and permits a large cutting diameter that holds the branch steady during cutting. The sap groove is a recess that reduces the contact area between the counterblade and the blade, which causes less friction and sticking.
