Give this maple a little more sun and you get some beautiful orange color in the leaves. Fall color is brick orange and red. This variety is more hardy and vigorous than 'Aureum'. This would be great to train as a bonsai! Light shade or morning sun is best for this maple as afternoon sun will scorch its leaves and deep shade will turn the leaves too green. Plant in an area protected from cold or strong winds. Good soil preparation with plenty of organic material will insure your tree thrives.
