Nicknamed the "Grouch" by the Allies, the Wolrd War II German tank sat on top of a Panzer IV chassis, which was widely produced and considered reliable and carried a standard howitser with 38 rounds surrounded by thick armored plates. The weight deemed to be too much for the chassis and faced not only suspension issues, but was inflicted by other mechanical breakdowns that led to four variants. It terrorized the streets and assisted in the Warsaw uprising and menaced the streets in Normandy, finding it more suited for urban fighting and especially devastating to structures rather than direct combat.
