The iconic Railway Clearing House seven-plank wagon, a staple of British railway wagon fleets, is now available in our 1:32 scale range. Based on the 1923 RCH design, this wagon, built in vast numbers, was favored by private owners. The Railway Clearing House, established to manage charges for vehicles on other companies' lines, set standard specifications for private owner wagons. The RCH 12-ton design, robust and simple, was the most common coal wagon built in the UK post-1923. Originally equipped with seven side planks, it featured various door configurations, but the unladen weight couldn't exceed 7 tons 5 cwt. Mandatory oil lubrication and brakes on both sides ensured safety. Mainline railway companies adopted RCH fittings, with LMS and LNER adopting the RCH 1923 mineral wagon as their standard.
