Plus it saves time by eliminating the need to align edges of the disc with the disc pad—the attachment does that for you, making disc changes quick and easy. The level of hardness needed is dependent on the task—choose a higher density (harder) for more aggressive applications and a lower, more flexible density (medium) for less aggressive applications—and is also dependent on the user’s work style. Use these disc pads with any drill, disc sander, right angle grinder, or rotary sander with a same size external thread. Disc pads with 1/4-20 internal threads may be mounted to collet chuck tools with Roloc Shank 45102 (not included). Max RPM is determined by size and firmness of the disc and disc pad—see product specifications.The 3M™ Roloc™ system was designed to provide a quick, secure attachment for products ranging in diameter from 1 to 4 inches. In addition, Roloc disc pads come in various densities or hardnesses depending on the requirements of the application. The TS and TSM disc pad comes in two densities, medium and hard, and the rule of thumb is the coarser the abrasive, the harder the disc pad, which promotes longer life of the product. The disc pad interlocks with the sanding disc and is attached to a rotary tool. This simple assembly provides a secure attachment that is reliable even when working at high speeds.
