Immaculate condition without the usual worn faded address label, folds, tears, stains or marks or other distractions as often seen! THE EAGLE HAS LANDED That "Eagle" was the Apollo 11 Spacecraft and it landed on the moon over 50 years ago! Its 3 passengers, the astronauts Michael Collins, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, were the first humans to visit the moon, the latter being the first to actually set foot on it, uttering the immortal words "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" when he did so. Equally immortal, at least in the collectibles realm, is this OFFICIAL First Day Cover of the U.S. Post Office postmarked both July 20 (the day of the landing) and September 20 1969, the day its stunning multi-color 10c Air Mail stamp was first issued. In addition to the stamp and historic postmarks, the cover displays a full vertical cachet (steel engraved illustration) featuring the 3 smiling world-renowned astronauts, the landing module hovering above the moon's surface and the Official NASA logo. Flawless condition just as it was printed in 1969 - no spots, stains, marks, tears, folds and NO faded address label as commonly seen - safely stored for all of these many years! If there's a single space collectible you don't want to be without, THIS IS IT!
