Extremely rare 1866 Shield Nickel.
- Graded AU53 by ICG (Very Professional Grading Company)
-Of the 1st variety, this coin has the "Rays" on the reverse side of the coin. Later the mint made the shield nickel without the rays because the immense detail of the coin was cracking the dies (during the stamping/pressing process)
-This is a particularly unique coin with a very high collectible value and low survival rate, especially in this condition.
-Not many of these coins are still around, most of them are worn down, cleaned or lost.
