These are large tools with a "specific use" like hacking at heavy brush or foliage. To use a high quality 1.4116 cutlery steel would probably not be very prudent, nor a very attractive price point. We use a high quality 440 stainless steel on the Puma XP Knives and Tools. These tools feature the ergonomically designed co-molded rubberized handles with fingered grips that help in stability and comfort while working on the job.
